When it comes to purchasing a new car there are a few things that you are going to want to do before you take the car. If you are serious about purchasing a new car, you should at least have an idea of what you are looking to purchase. You should go online and see how much the car is at the dealer.
Like if you log on to a GM official site they will show the prices if you purchase the car straight from the factory, now you can expect to go to any of the local dealers and not pay more then that. Usually, when you purchase a car straight from the factory, it tends to be a little more expensive, because they basically allow you to make up your own car, however, if you have the extra money, you should try to purchase or have a car made straight from the factory for the fact that you know that there is not going to be thousands of people driving it before you.
If you are going to purchase your new car from a local dealer, you should never pick a dealer more than 30 miles away or you will put a lot of miles on it, have your game face on. Some of the dealers will even state the amount or best offer. They do that because they know that their prices are higher than others and leaves some room for those who love to haggle, however, if you do not haggle, the dealer loves you even more. First, find the car that you know you love.
Test drive it and when the sales clerk gives you that "want to sign papers" look, say thank you for your time. Don't say more because you want to play the game. While your there, you should get the VIN number if it is a used car. Used cars, you have to watch out for a lot more than just the price.
Purchasing a new is nothing. You have a warranty with the dealer and the factory. Your car is guaranteed to last at least three years, however, with a used car you have to watch. You may think that you are purchasing a great car and it may even seem to run great. The dealer has their ways of making things different. They tend to grease things very well so that you don't hear all the noise upon purchase.
You have to watch with a used car dealer who also doesn't give you their warranty. If they aren't willing to put their name behind their cars, then you might want to go somewhere else. You should always do your research on the dealer and ask around. You should also get the VIN number and run a car fax report before purchasing, or ask your dealer to give you one. This way you know exactly where the car has been.
